Vivo Nex 5G: The "Waterfall" Smartphone

The new Vivo Nex 5G is the first smartphone to feature the new waterfall edge display. This display wraps further around the edge of the smartphone when compared to previous designs. The Vivo NEX 3 comes in two variants -- one with 4G support while the second model of the smartphone comes with 5G support. For now there's no information whether or not the Vivo NEX 3 will head to India. To recall, the first NEX series smartphone was launched in India but the NEX Dual Display didn't arrive in the country.
The Vivo NEX 3 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus paired with p to 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. This is the first Vivo phone to come with the new Snapdragon 800-series chipset. The smartphone also comes with UFS 3.0 support and dual WLAN Acceleration technology. The phone is packed with a massive 4500mAh battery that comes with Super FlashCharge 44W support and C-DRX power-saving technologies. The phone also comes with Vapor Chamber Cooling System that the company claims "supplies power while remaining cool even with heavy 5G usage."
The Vivo NEX 3 comes in two variants -- the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage while the second model comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone also comes with NFC support.
The Vivo NEX 3 comes with a 6.89-inch POLED Waterfall FullView display, as rumoured. The Waterfall screen is curved on the edges and that allows the smartphone to offer seamless multimedia experience. The NEX 3 offers a FullView display experience to the users. It offers 99.6 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone also includes in-display fingerprint sensor and includes features like X-axis Haptic Vibration motor, Touch Sense, among other things.
On the camera front the Vivo NEX 3 includes lunar ring camera system. On the rear panel the smartphone includes a 64MP primary shooter, secondary camera is a 13MP wide-angle lens, and third is a 13MP telephoto camera. On the front the smartphone includes a 16MP elevating camera setup. Similar to all other Vivo phones this one also comes with Jovi Assitant support.
Alongside the Vivo NEX 3 the company also launched its first Bluetooth earphone at the event - the vivo True Wireless Stereo (TWS) Earphone. The company claims the earphone "maintains consistent high-quality audio with the Qualcomm Bluetooth platform and dual delivery technology, bringing users a unique and outstanding smart listening experience in different scenarios."

For now, though, we'd advise our US-based readers against importing the NEX 3 if you're after its 5G connectivity, as the spec sheet suggests that only Sprint shares the same 5G band, and there's no guarantee that the phone will be fully compatible with the network. That said, if you don't mind sticking to 4G, you're good to go.
